Our Location

Zipolite is located at the southern most tip of the state of Oaxaca, about 2 km west of Puerto Angel.

To reach Zipolite you can either fly to Huatulco or to Puerto Escondido (both with international and daily flights from Mexico city). Here you either take a taxi or we can come and meet you.
From Huatulco it's a 40 km. (25 miles) drive to Zipolite, from Puerto Escondido about
70 km. (44 miles).

By bus:
Oaxaca City - Pochutla (+/- 6 hours) or Mexico City - Pochutla (+/- 14 hours).
From Pochutla you take a taxi or collectivo -a shared taxi- to Zipolite (20 min.).

!! Some travelers told us that from the States there are some inexpensive deals on charter flights directly to Huatulco with Apple Vacations (they normally
sell flight + hotel packages but you have to ask you local travel agent for the 'flight only' deals)!!

Bus
You can take an overnight bus to Pochutla (Estrella Blanca, 14 hours, $ 47.00 USD). Busses leave from Central de autobuses del Sur, at 300 meters from the metro station ‘Tasqueña’. Bus tickets you can reserve in advance on: https://www.ticketbus.com.mx/ticketbus/eng/index.jsp

Air

Bus
The 2nd class bus to Pochutla takes a stunning but rather curvy route (6 hours, $ 10.00 USD, Dramamine recommended for those with a weak stomach).

Minibus/Van
The minibuses/vans take the same route as the 2nd class bus and do the stretch in less time...(Dramamine recommended for those with a weak stomach).

Bus/Collectivo
From the airport you can take a bus or collectivo (shared taxi) to Pochutla (40 min, $ 2.00 USD). Walk 2 min. outside the airport to the main road.

Taxi
You can take a taxi directly to Zipolite, cheaper outside the airport on the main road (45 min., $ 30.00 USD). You might have to wait a bit, but it is worth it as the airport taxis charge about $ 75.00 USD for the trip. Solstice is near the soccer field (la cancha) and next to the primary school (la primaria).

Airport pickup
We can come and meet you in the airport and take you to Solstice ($ 35.00 USD, one way).

Collectivo
Take a collectivo to Puerto Angel (15 min, $ 1.00 USD). You'll find them are next to ‘Mini Plaza Veracruz’. From there you take another collectivo to Zipolite (5 min, $ 0.50 USD)
Once in Zipolite you get off at the soccer field (la cancha) where you'll see a Solstice sign.

Camioneta (pickup truck)
They stop opposite ‘Mini Plaza Veracruz’ (20 min., $ 0.60 USD). Don’t get on the ones that go to Mazunte first. You’ll get to Zipolite in the end, but it’ll take quite a while and you’ll end up at the wrong end of Zipolite…

Taxi
About $ 8.00 USD during the day, $ 12.00 USD after sunset. Agree upon a price before getting in.
